"As a federal judge, I send people to prison on a weekly basis. I joined Whiz Kids in hopes of being able to do something to perhaps keep a few young people from that fate. For many children, Whiz Kids is one of the few good influences in their lives"

Mentor and Friend
Whiz Kids volunteers concentrate on self-esteem, reading, communication skills, goal-setting and character building. Many of our tutors build such a strong relationship with their child that they spend years tutoring and mentoring the same student. Tutors are more than just tutors - they are mentors, friends and role models.

"I am familiar with many programs offered in Oklahoma and with hundreds of caring people who give of time and talent. I am grateful for their services. There is one program that has continually stood out as exemplary. This outstanding program is Whiz Kids. I have personally visited one of the host sites during the program time and witnessed the incredible impact being made on the lives of the attending children. Moreover, after discussions with the adult volunteers it was clear that Whiz Kids was also enriching their lives as well..."
